11 second club August 2010 WIP 3 (Final pass)

Hey guys, I'm almost done with this. I don't know if I'll be able to change any of the acting choices (considering the time left), but do let me know nonetheless. I'm looking at more of animation critiques at this stage. Thanks guys! :)

P.S. Kasana had said the boy's knees at the end do not have a clean silhouette. I tried a lot to correct that, but the knee controllers gave me a lot of issues (like overshoots etc) and was infact messing up my animation instead! :(

P.P.S. I might J-U-S-T about be able to make it to the contest after rendering, so I'll give it a try! :)

Hey, Dapoon!

This turning out to be good! :)
Some small things though,

Female: (Body)
1. The feet feel a bit much apart while she steps nearer to the skeleton. You can reduce it a bit.

2. The weight shifts are clearly visible. Try to make it be felt, not seen. You can add a slight side to side motion to the upper body to suggest the weight shifts.

3. The spine looks kinda stiff right now, apart from the bend.

4. You could still work a bit on the timing of the shoulders when she says the word 'amazing'. Have her shoulders go up all the way till she finishes saying 'a-m-a' (the tone of which is like an anticipation to the second half of the word i.e. 'z-i-n-g') and then quickly bring her shoulders down as the torso and head raise up while saying 'z-i-n-g'. Hope you understand what I want to say. Simply meaning, work on the timing of the shoulder for the word 'amazing'. :D

Nothing much to say about the boy.

I loved the acting choices and the idea too. Keep up the good work.

TC.

just 1 small thing ,
convert the vibration in Y except of Z in last part of old lady.
and give more PELVIC Y in the old lady to have more dynamic look while walking.

further more there are thing I would like to change but they are somehow related to acting choice.

But yeh its working nice.

Chandu and Aman, thanks a ton for those amazing pointers guys!!

@ Chandu, your 4th tip (about the shoulders) was really tempting! I even tried it out a number of times. But maybe I wasn't doing it right, because unfortunately it only ended up looking like a JERK, since it was messing up the arcs of the hands too! I tried a lot to fix that, but in vain! :(

But I understood what you meant (about sometimes considering one part of the word as the antic of the remaining part, according to the delivery of the word). Great tip!

Well I've submitted my entry, but unfortunately without the renders. Preksha shall do the lighting soon enough, and I'll put it up on my blog after that!

So do vote for me guys! :D
