Light a candle and fight against terrorism

Hey folks, Another dark day in the history of our country after a terrible terror attack in mumbai. I was shocked seeing all these events on television. Think about the people who suffered and lost lives with this outrageous event . Damn, we Indians have to unite and fight this terrorism once in for all. We dont need this. We are a peaceful country. I hope this will come to and end soon. Lets light a candle for the innocent souls who lost their lives and mourn for them for a few minutes.:( cheers vinay

I really don't know should I be posting this here ...cause this is not directly related to animation ...but this is coolest flash game i came across ...cool graphics ...simple, more like hand-drawn animation ...stick figure to be more precise ...nice interaction and great animation too ....jumping, killing, kicking and even wall climbing ...can keep you engaged for a while ...do try it if you like here, may take a while to load... again sorry if am posting something irrelevant ...have a great day !

this is one heck of a beautiful animation. it's done by a girl before she got into pixar as an intern. even victor navone has this clip on his blog as one of his faves! it's really a touching piece... and since it's 2D, its appeal increases MANIFOLD (atleast for me!). very honest and from the heart.... check it out!

jump WIP (blocking)

okay so i'm killing myself to do this, but i REALLY wanna try it out!! PRESENTING BEFORE YOU MONSTERS, THE JUMP!!! i'm done wid the blocking, with some parts opened!! it's 30 loooooong seconds!!! but then i still have a week left for submissions, so i might JUST be able to pull it off!!! fingers crossed!! ;D do give in ur C&C..! thanks!

helllo monsters...good to be back...here is the basic blocking of my gear change..ur C&C's plz to improve it ^_^ i am planing of removing the first 4sec of my animation..plz tell me if u feel the same tooo..hehe..i just opened in flat mode and put it up... hmm another hogan exercise! this time i made him run! i've never really attempted a run before... so i dunno if this one is correct or what! i leave that to u guys!! (the run might look a li'l weird from the persp as well as the side. maybe that's cuz i didnt animate the camera properly along with him!) c&c plz! front: persp: side

whew! i didnt know the key to avoiding those penetrations was so simple: just move the shoulders up!! lol :D well thanks for ur corrections guys, this is the "corrected" version of the tired walk... i kinda had to compromise on the rotate X of the shoulders (as u can see in the front view). and vinay i really tried dragging the legs, but then they started snapping! i'll still work on that though! let's see... c&c plz! front: persp: side:

tired walk

hey guys second sem is ROCKING!! having fun animating a FULL body character! lol... well this is my attempt at doing a character walk. i tried "tired walk", and believe me, after doing it, i feel almost the same: TIRED!! lolz, well it was fun doing it... but as u can see there's an issue with the hands... they knock off the knees... if i dont do that, they go thru the geometry of the knees, which i OFCOURSE dont want. so this is the best i cud come up with, although i'm not satisfied, cuz it looks jerky... plz suggest me some methods to overcome that problem AND keep the flow going... thanks! front persp side

a meet with a legend: JAMES BAXTER!!

guys this was one of the MOST memorable moments of my life!! I MET JAMES BAXTER!! someone who's worked on classics like Who framed Roger Rabbit, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, and recent hits like Enchanted and Kung Fu Panda (the hand drawn sequences ofcourse!). it was awesome seeing someone so IMMENSELY talented standing just a few feet away from me!! well before i get too carried away, lemme just tell u what happened... james was here visiting india and he held a session at the asifa fest 'international animation day' held in bangalore on 6th nov 2008. it was a 3 hour session which was divided into the first hour of teaching about acting and body mechanics; second hour of the making of the 2D sequence of kung fu panda that his studio did; and the final hour of question answer session. the session was OUT OF THIS WORLD!! esp the part where he talked abt kung fu panda. it was AMAZING to know how he worked on it!! very inspiring! whew! well i have found one article on james baxter's lecture on acting, body mechanics, lipsync etc. it's awesome! check it out!! http://sewardstreet.com/blog/post/james_baxter_animation_lecture_day_one_acting/ http://www.sewardstreet.com/blog/post/james_baxter_animation_lecture_day_two_technique/ THIS man is something else!!

One year

Hey people, Wooooooooooooooooooooooah. Its been a long time. puuuffff. I was on a vacation for some days. Been to GOKARNA(near GOA). Fantastic place , awesome stretch of beaches. If u guys get a chance plz do go there and freak out, And was busy with someother stuff. ITS BEEN ONE YEAR FOR ANIMATION MONSTERS. Wooooah. It was lot of fun, and really feels good to meet u all. Its been a wonderfull experience. Seriously, without u guys MONSTERS wouldn ve come this far. A big round of APPLAUSE to u all. U guys are awesome. Lets take monsters to the next level. Was talking to dapoon for doin one short piece with our mascot(mond momelo) and many more things. So i need lot of support from u guys.Keep animating, and ROCK ON:) cheers vinay
